Getting to Liberec

Liberec lies in a mountainous region close to the place where the Czech, Polish and German borders meet.

From Prague’s Černý Most bus station Student Agency buses travel the 73km to Liberec in a comfortable 65mins for 100Kč or less. By train, the trip is slower (2hrs 30min), more expensive (at least 134Kc) and involves changing at least once.

From Kutná Hora, the trip to Liberec will take around 3hours and require changing trains or buses at least once. Some of the connections involve returning to Prague and taking the efficient Student Agency direct service from there.

From Olomouc, the best connections to Liberec are by train with a single change at Pardubice. In this way, the 260km journey takes a little more than 4 hours. There are also direct buses but they take 90minutes longer.

From Karlovy Vary the two main options are to travel by bus, with a change in Prague, or to travel by train, changing in Ústí nad Labem. The prices are very similar, as are the travel times – from 4 hours to 4hrs30mins.

From Český Krumlov and Telč it’s best to travel to Prague and follow the above directions from there.
